THE NATIONAL PARK
Ujung Kulon National Park was added to as Natural World Heritage Site by
UNESCO List in 1991, national park on the island of Java, in Jawa Barat
provinsi (province), Indonesia. It is best known as the last refuge of the
one-horned javan rhinoceros. A remote area of low hills and plateaus, with
small lagoons and coastal dunes, it occupies a total area 122,956 hectares on
a peninsula and some islands at the extreme western tip of Java. Several
species of endangered plants and animals can be found there, the javan
rhinoceros being the most seriously under threat.
Ujung Kulon's natural riches - a
huge divers ity of plants and animals - were first recognized by Dutch and
British researchers and botanists in 1820. Some 700 species of plant are well
protected, and about 57 of them are categorized as endangered species,
including bayur (pterospermum javanicum), bengang (neesia altissima), salam
(syzygium polyanthum), and various species of orchid.

3,200 mm/year (on average). Altitude 0 - 608 m asl. Geographical location
102°02' - 105°37' E; 6°30' - 6°52' S.
WILD BIRD
Although over 250 species have been recorded in Ujung Kulon National Park,
the birds are not always easily seen as many live high in the forest canopy
or are vigilant inhabitants of the dense undergrowth. However it is the
constant bird calls of Ujung Kulon National Park that contribute to the
atmosphere of the forest, for seldom is the park silent.

KULON BIRDWATCHING
Duration: 6 DAYS / 5 NIGHTS

Best Visit Season: April – September
Day 01 : JAKARTA - TAMAN JAYA
After Breakfast, we will drive to Taman Jaya village, this will be take 5-6
hours, afternoon we will arrival in Taman Jaya, and after lunch walking to
Cibiuk hot spring water for hearing bird in the forest and back to Taman
Jaya. (D)
 Day 02 :
PAMANGGANGAN RIVER – CIKABEUMBEUM RIVER
Early morning we starting sailing
using wooden boat to and use canoing to Pamanggangan river and others side
Pamanggangan for wild bird watching, afternoon canoing to Cikabeumbeum river
after that back to boat and overnight in Heundeuleum island (B,L,D)
DAY 03 : CIKABEUMBEUM RIVER –
CIGENTER RIVER
Early morning, starting for wild bird watching in Cikabembem river and
afternoon canoing to Cigenter river, overnight at tent or on boat. (B,L,D)
DAY 04 :
CIGENTER RIVER – CITENGAH RIVER - PEUCANG ISLAND
Early morning starting canoing to
Cigenter river, in this river we are not watching a bird, many other wild
life eg. pyhton snake, monkey, if we lucky we can meet with java rhinoceros.
Afternoon we canoing in Citengah river for bird watching, and sailing to
Peucang island, overnight in Peucang. (B,L,D)
DAY 05 : PEUCANG ISLAND - CI UJUNG
KULON RIVER - CIDAON - PEUCANG ISLAND
Early morning, we starting for
canoing at Ci Ujung Kulon river, and watch wild bird in Peucang island
or relax for swimming or snorkel, afternoon visiting Cidaon savana for
watching many bos javanicus javanicus, javan deer, javan leaf monkey, javan
gibbon, other wild animals, overnight in Peucang island (B,L,D)
DAY 06
: PEUCANG ISLAND - SUMUR - JAKARTA
After breakfast, sailing to Sumur
then drive to Jakarta. End tour. (B)
